Also, if you are running Safari, you can open the Activity window and see what file it's getting hung up on. On the right, it should say "Waiting" or something like that

Hello,
I would like to create a simple iphone app for my sports team, all it would need to include is:
-twitter feed
-youtube feed
-rss news feed from the main site
-schedule
-map
Am I right in thinking that the only software I need is xcode 4 and a developers license to get the app into the app store?
I have some experience in coding, mainly HTML. From the screenshots of xcode 4, it looks similar to dreamweaver in that you can work in a GUI(add table by clicking on the table button) or by coding it.
Is it that simple, or am I getting it wrong?
Also, if I buy a developers license for a year, what happens after that year? Does the app stay in the store, but I cannot update it, or does it disappear from the app store?
Apologies if these are stupid questions, I have looked for an answer, but have come up with nothing so far.

One time, as a practical joke, my friend was sent an unmarked VHS videotape, and when she pressed the PLAY button, she found that the scene where the woman watches the "death" video for the first time was on HER tape. Basically, it was identical to the Death video in The Ring (Japanese version). At the end of that scene, the tape cut out. She freaked out and didn't sleep that night. :D

This is definetely a surprise. It is great that a universal product such as the ipod is getting sold by more than Apple specific vendors- even Dell.
Maybe more Dells will ship with firewire as a result!

Caught this while making the morning news romp today. At least there is some outbreak of common sense in that family. And if what he says is true, elder Phelps is a really sick man (which we already know). I could say more, but I'd be wasting my breath, and he doesn't deserve my breath.

"I think what he does out there is evil,"said Nathan "Nate" Phelps, during an appearance on HLN's "Issues with Jane Velez-Mitchell."
Nate Phelps is the seventh of the Westboro Baptist minister's 13 children. The younger Phelps severed ties with his family on his 18th birthday and said he hasn't had contact with his father in three decades. Nate Phelps is currently writing a book about his family.
The U.S. Supreme Court ruled earlier this month that Westboro's practice of picketing the funerals of fallen soldiers with offensive placards is constitutionally protected free speech. The picketing, which includes chants and placards stating "God Hates Fags" and "Thank God for Dead Soldiers," have enraged supporters of the U.S. military and the families and friends of slain soldiers.
Nate Phelps called his pastor father "one of the best reasons that America has been forced to get off the fence and address this issue (of gay rights)."
"But at the same time you can't ignore the fact that he's done a lot of damage," Phelps said. "He's hurt a lot of families, not only in the gay community, but the families of these soldiers."
The younger Phelps said his father also hurt his own family.
"He used his fists. He used his knees and he used ... the handle of a mattock," said Phelps, referring to a pick-like digging tool. "He used that in such a way that it split the skin on the back of the kid's legs so they bled."
"If they want to call that discipline, that's fine. But I call it abuse," Phelps said.
The son said Fred Phelps also hit his mother, but not with the handle of the mattock.
Phelps has also said his father abused prescription drugs when he was in law school. He didn't back down from the claim during the HLN interview.
Velez-Mitchell read a statement from Nate Phelps' sister, Shirley Phelps-Roper, denying the claim.
"Yikes. Hell no. His (Nate Phelps') imagination goes on and on," Roper wrote. "This lie should not have come out of his mouth when he decided to reject the word of God. Nothing he can say will change the fact that God hates (homosexuals) and their enablers and therefore God hates America and America is doomed."

Likewise, Phelps said his father manipulates facts and circumstances to reach false conclusions.

"So since the United States is taking steps to move in the direction of equality for gays in America, he says that has doomed America," Phelps said. "So anyone who is connected to America, so anyone who is supporting America in any sense is subject to the wrath of God."
When asked what he would say to his father if he could, Nate Phelps replied, "I've never had a relationship with my father. I wouldn't know what to say to him."

What time do you guys think people will start to line up to buy the new iPhone 3G S, I know it Apple Stores will open their doors at 8 am on Friday, June 19th. This thread is for Apple Stores only, not AT&T. Post what time you think the first people will show up.
Another question I had: At 8 am will Apple sell the iPhone 3G S at all price points, meaning people qualified for the subsidized rate can buy it, this I know is true, but will people paying the 399/499 be able to buy it, as well as the people who want to buy the no-commit at 599/699? I plan on buying the phone at the no-commit price so I want to make sure I don't get there and they say they are only selling to people who are upgrading or new 2 year contracts.

ifi remember right the powermacs do not have a mic port, just a line in. the mic port has an extra amp i believe to make it work. im not sure, it was something like that that the audio guy at work wa explaining to me. i would recommend getting an imic, and go from from there.

I'm just really learning about this type of technology, so I'm curious: what makes a SSD different when erased compared to a traditional disk-spinning HD? I had always heard that, with a traditional HD, even if you erased/reformatted the drive and threw it away that some savvy tech types could somehow either restore your drive or get file fragments to get information, etc? Maybe that's just paranoid urban myth, but that's what I had always heard. What, technologically speaking, makes a SSD different in terms of not retaining old data when erased? Just curious.

Nice collections BTW. I had about 500 DVDs from the States, but since i live in Greece now, they wont play on my PS3 I bought here, so I converted them all, and have them stored on my external drive.
Anyone have any ideas what I should do with them? I have them in two boxes in the garage.
Ha, nope its not just the picture, the shelves are pretty slanted. They are holding up though. If any of the shelves decide to break, I would not be surprised if it is the shelves that are holding all my records. They are more heavier than 1 shelf of blu's. I will probably be looking at getting new bookcase or something soon.
Do you plan on coming back to the states anytime? When you come back you could sell them to a second hand store or donate them?

I have Crucial installed in my iMac 2009. Haven't ever had any issues with it. It wasn't 1333 mhz though. I just ordered 1066 for my new Mac Mini from Amazon. 5 stars there.

I looked thru that apple listing of keystrokes, but I couldn't find one to restore windows (or I overlooked it). That is, if a window of an app is minimized onto the dock and you select the app by apple+tab, is there a keystroke to restore the window so I don't have to use the mouse to find it on the dock and click on it?
