    Im in the same boat as you. I just bought a D70 and it came with almost the same exact len kit. Ive had lots of fun/luck witht he 70-300mm at my kids softball games. I got some great shots of the kids at the plate , running, fielding etc...

    Back to your original question....I just bought a magazine this week by ShutterBug - Digital Photography How-To Guide. One of the articles is about choosing the next lens for your digital SLR. Well worth the price for us rookies :p





    I need some serious help with my D50 equipment. I have no experience at all with SLR cameras, and have recently bought a bundle consisting of a Nikon D50 and a Nikon 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G ED AF-S Dxlens. Now I am interested in buying another lens (The Nikon 70-300mm f/4-5.6 AF Zoom Lens) in hope that these two lenses would suit my needs in amateur photography. I intend to photo landscapes, portraits and some ''macro'' (flowers and some insects). So, I would like to know if these lenses are an acceptable choice, having in mind that I can't afford to buy some expensive lenses, as my average monthly salary almost amounts to the price of these cheap ones. Thanks.

    Hi there,
    I have been arrested for shoplifting. Finger printed,and produced in court. The case has been dismissed as I did not do it on purpose. I got the document from the court that case is DISMISSED. 1. Is it good to do the "Case Expungement"?
    2. Does the port of entry officer sees the arrest even I expunge the case?
    3. any other scenarios I might encounter?
    Any suggestions are highly appreciated

    "Document mailed to applicant" can mean anything.For me it was a call for finger printing (second time). Uscis (or IBM) was lazy to create different status messages and that's causing a lot of confusion. Check with your lawyer to see if you recieved any intimation from USCIS recently.

    No receipts or check cashing yet



    Hi,

    My application reached NSC on july 2nd 10.25 am & the LUD on my I-140 was changed on July 28th still no receipt notice or the cheque got cashed. No idea whatz going????

    So I guess the LUD change is nothing relevant to I-485 filing.

    As a member of the IV content team (i.e. the team that spotted the problems and did all the delicious analysis so far) I will withold comment and speculation till the whole amended bill comes out.

    As your own analysis shows -- the different sections of the bill need to be analyzed together.

    Moreover , I have found it easier to get hold of IO ( call center guy quickly handovers calls to IO ) when I call them to check for status on a my AP which is not appearing on the CaseStatus web site.

Our efforts to enter these applications into our systems have caused a delay in the transfer of information from our case control system to the Case Status Online system. We are seeing delays of up to three to four weeks between receipting of your application and its status being available online. We are reviewing solutions to resolve the situation as soon as possible.

    This action simply contradicts the entry on visa waiver. This allows people to visit (ONLY) with no intention of staying.

    Coming in before you know your L visa is going to be coming is fraudulent.

    If this individual wishes to leave the US they will have to get the L visa stamped in their passport before they can return. Might be asked why they did not get this done to enter the country for their job in the first place.

    Have to say this person is going to need some assistance at some point to explain this away.

    Your signature says I 140 was approved, when was it approved and does that mean the USCIS website never updated the status of your I 140?
    or was it showing I140 approved before and now it's showing pending?


    This is my friend's case not mine. This is mentioned when I first described the case.

    My girlfriend is an Australian citizen and I am an Indian citizen.

    Her uncle and cousins immigrated to the US years ago and she seems to have a Family-Based Immigrant VISA under category F4.

    Her parents have greencards too.

    She believes her greencard was filed for her by her uncle after he got his US Citizenship.

    1. Can this be the case? ( Can an uncle file a green card for a niece? Or was it filed by the cousins? )

    We were recently browsing the USCIS site and it seems she still has to maintain continious residence in the US for 3 more years to be eligible for naturalization.

    2. Is it mandatory for green card holders to have 5 years in the US to be eligible for naturalization regardless from the country they are from?

    I mean, a lot of immigrants come from India, China etc, but applications from Australia are a lot less.

    Will she, being an Australian citizen, have to wait for 5 years just like immigrants from India, China etc have to? Or can she wait in the US for less time?

    3. We would love to get married soon. I don't have any immigrant or dual intent VISAs for the US nor am I very much interested in going to the US either.

    However, her uncle has told her that her greencard would be revoked if she got married to me before getting her US Citizenship.

    Is this just empty an threat from her uncle or are there really restrictions on how person with a greencard can get married or not?

    4. Are not all greencards created equal?

    5. Is there any way by which we can verify, by ourselves, what is the category and type of greencard she has?

    Any special serial numbers/markings/etc?

    I would love to have contacts of good immigration attorneys either in Hyderabad, India or San Francisco, US in case this case is complicated.

    Why the lawyer need some information from your wife ? ( she no need to apply any thing , since your GC is approved ).

    I think best way to tralk to HR dept in your wifes company and explain them. that you will get GC soon. If they need some proof show them approval email .

    If they ask to fill i9 form show the EAD as proof for employment eligibility.



    New company lawer is not accepting EAD, even though we don't have written approval confiramtion

    How to conivince him to use EAD unti we got the phisical card?

    I got my H1 in 2004 thru an body shopper. I completed my first three year period. got next 3 yr extension recently. when would be right time to apply GC? what category is suggested EB2/EB3?

    How long will it take to clear labour?

    Mine was filed on May 01, 2006 EB-2 and I am still waiting. I has been close to 9 months now. I also logged in an enquiry 35 days ago, but still no reply. Worried as what to do. Do, I convert to Premium?

    we are also on same boat

    but I did not find any college [small/medium/big ] which are offering MS program for below 6k including all.. I found few colleges who are offering at 6k, but their degress are not valid in INDIA/USA as they looks like diploma mills.

    In a 4 months search I found one college [regionally acredited], which will cost 13k including every thing.
    I found one more state college which are offering MS in computer science for 12k
    These two colleges help us to transfer visa to F1 and chances to get work permission in 4 months [part time]

    bottom line is: if you find any college [regionally acredited, not online university] which are offering masters program between 6 to 9k, please update me through this post

    Kaisersose thank you for your reply. Is their a time limit for how long I have to work for the GC filling employer? what worries me is if they fire me in lets say 1 month after hire during their probation period am I safe? Even though i was working part time some where else.

    As you have a GC, you can work for any employer in the range {A, B, C...Z}, work for 2 or more of them simultaneously and handle any kind of job. There is no law that will create a problem out of this during naturalization.

    Of course, one can do this with a 485 EAD too, but there is the one restriction of "same or similar".

    This will be a problem for all the people whose cases gets transfered from other centers to NSC or TSC. May be it is just the receipt date of transfer notice... Not the actual 485 application ? A clarification from USCIS would help

    Hi all,

    I took today an Infopass to ask about the status of my I-485 (EB3 ROW, filled in July 2007, PD 12/2005). The IO told me that the case is pre-adjudicated under review and that, since there are no visa numbers available, the case will resume normal processing in October 2009 and that there is no reason to ask about the status anymore until that time. Can anybody explain what "pre-adjudicated under review" means ?

    pre-adjudicated - As of writing, your case is good-to-go and subject to fbi name check & visa number availability.
    under review - It may once be reviewed fully or partially before requesting for a visa number when available
